West Broadway south of Thomas

"I am taking a liking to this abominable place." Mark Twain (writing during his first visit to New York as a teenaged typesetter).

Compared to the block just north of it, this block has a lot going for it. There are at least 3 restaurants of note. Edward's is a popular spot for breakfast lunch and dinner. Le Petite Abuelle serves wonderful Belgian food. We tried them a few weeks ago on a Monday night when the Belgian beers were half price. Bouley Market is a meat market with an upstairs restaurant. On the East side of the street, there is a store specializing in balloons and other novelty items.
